2009: An Xamcram Odyssey - Symphonic music and monkeys hurling dangerous objects into space!

Wednesday, January 28th, 2009

OK, so you have a couple of months to crack an exam that will likely lead to less sleepless nights fending off the endless onslaught of admissions  and more sleepless nights realising the buck actually does stop with you! You turn to the books and your eyes glaze over. You turn to - that boon for the attention deficited in all of us - the Internet. What do you see? A host of snazzy companies eager to part a desperate crammer from his money. Then out of the corner of your eye. A bright and benign monolith. Free questions. Quality ones (well many of them hopefully), penned by your peers - and with love. Now this can be a reality. In-fact we could have a Wikipedia of brilliantly worded exam questions. Sculpted and finessed by web 2.0’s hand.

In case you are wondering, that in my overblown way of stating things was Xamcram.

We want to do a quality free source here and consign some of those avaricious prep course pay sites to the place where they can cohabit with the likes of world book encyclopedia and Pan-Am. OK some of those sites are great and their promoters have worked really hard to make them so. Props to them. But there has to be something between an expensive professional pay site and loose collections of dodgy medical forums.

All you doctors out there, please send in questions that you have for MRCP, MRCPsych, MRCS, MRCOG, Radiology, Anaesthesia, Paediatrics and just about any UK/US based medical exam that you would like to see on our site. We have only put up a fraction of our repository right now, but if things work out you should be seeing our entire collection up there pretty soon.

Peace and Love
